UCM's Legal Statute

UCM is an autonomous, public utility and not-for-profit private university, instituted by the Episcopal Conference of Mozambique. The same institution was created under Decree number 43/95, of 14 of September of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Mozambique.

Its statutes have been published in the Republic of Mozambique’s Boletin on 8 November 1995, SERIE I – Number 45.

The principles that give shape to UCM’s mindset are derived from the documents of the Magisterium of the Church’s teaching, namely the Declaration of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council on Catholic Education, the Code of Canon Law, the Apostolic Constitution Ex-Corde Ecclesiae concerning the Ecclesiastical Faculties of the Apostolic Constitution Sapientia Christiana.
